At Grand Street Consulting, we provide academic, financial, and operational expertise to schools, school districts, and charter school authorizers. Our new K12 Finance Initiative, launching in the fall of 2021, focuses on providing data-driven education policy solutions based on how schools and school districts spend money.

Steve Robbins — Finance, Operations, and Data Expert

Prior to forming GSC, Steve Robbins was a founding member of Wolcott College Prep (f.k.a Wolcott School) as their first ever Director of Finance and Operations. He also served on three Local School Councils (single-school school boards) in Chicago.

Steve has worked in the finance industry for over ten years. He was a Vice President of Investment Banking at Berenson & Company in New York City where he advised corporations on merger/acquisition, debt restructuring, and capital formation transactions. He also worked as a hedge fund Analyst at Sandell Asset Management as part of their Risk Arbitrage group. He holds a Master's in Education and Bachelor's in Engineering from Harvard University.

He lives with his wife and two boys in Chicago.

Andrew Sullivan — Academic, Organizational, and Policy Expert

Prior to being part of GSC, Andrew Sullivan served as the Education Policy Director to the Mayor of Denver and was the Colorado State Director for Empower Schools, an organization that helps schools gain and use their autonomy to optimize decision-making. He currently serves as the Chief of Staff to a City Councilmember in New Orleans.

Andrew has worked in the education space for over 15 years. He has six years of teaching experience, both as a teacher in the Teach for America program in California and as a founding teacher for a middle school in New Orleans. He worked as both an Assistant Principal and Principal for five years at two charter schools in New Orleans. He holds a Master's in Education from Harvard University and Bachelor's in History from Yale University.

He lives with his wife and two children in New Orleans.
